This page is dedicated to the 2010 Whitsuntide Festival, which took place on Saturday 5th June. Somehow Goosnargh & Whittingham Whitsuntide Festival always seems to receive good weather and this year was no exception with early cloud giving way to a warm, brilliantly sunny Festival Day.
This year is a landmark for at least one Festival guest, Mrs Maisie Kitching who is now in her hundredth year and has been a keen supporter of the Festival for almost all of those years. Maisie has also been a committee member for many years - our Annual General Meetings would not be the same without a taste of one of Maisie's many homebrewed fruit wines. The Festival this year was hosted as Maisie's Festival, although of course the Festival Day can equally be considered to be Bethan's Day. Highlight of the day's celebrations as always the moment when Rebecca handed over the crown to this year's nominated Queen Bethan Williamson. Bethan will now support many Festival and Community events during her year in the hotseat. This year the Festival photographs are being made available to view and purchase online. This is done using the services of a professional photographic printing lab called Photobox who allow Stuart Homer Photography to maintain a branded online gallery and provide the secure payment, printing and despatch facilities. Any photographs ordered will be promptly despatched to the address of your choice direct from Photobox. Please click here to visit the Official Whitsuntide Festival photo gallery where you can view and purchase the authorised Festival photographs. Congratulations go to the winning entrants in the large and small float categories and to the fancy dress entrants, as well as many thanks to all those involved in whatever capacity - building and entering floats, dressing up, selling and buying raffle tickets, setting up and clearing away, performing and the many other roles which allow the Festival to exist.
Thank you one and all for allowing such a magnificent Festival to take place!
